Can I transfer my training to another regional training organisation (RTO) after I accept a place on the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT)?

Generally, you will be expected to complete your AGPT program within the training region - and so with the RTO – that you first started training with. However, there are certain circumstances under which a transfer to another RTO will be considered.

These circumstances include:

  • being a member of the Australian Defence Force who is posted to another region
  • having an identified career or training need that is not met in the current region
  • experiencing an unforeseen change in personal circumstances
  • being enrolled with an RTO that ceases to exist

Visit AGPT for more information.
