What is OMRIG?

OMRIG stands for the Outer Metropolitan Areas Relocation Incentive Grant. It was a scheme run by the government to provide financial incentives for practicing doctors to move to and stay in an outer metropolitan location.

In 2015, OMRIG was consolidated with the General Practice Rural Incentives Program (GPRIP).

There are a range of other financial incentives for rural GPs available too.
